I always enjoy visiting Sue at It's a Very Cherry World on Wednesdays for her REDnesday posts. Bloggers are to write a post featuring RED and then link to her blog. I first read about REDnesdays on my friend Sandy's blog, 521 Lake Street, cause Sandy is the Queen of cute red things. I've wanted to participate for a long time but have procrastinated about it...well, no more!! I'm jumping in this week with a really cute red thing of my own!! Here is a new guy I want you to meet...
The Polka Dot Pixie..I mean come on now, even the name of her blog makes you want to go there and peek, right? In this particular post she wrote about this guy being available. As soon as I read that he was for sale I emailed Jenny. She quickly responded and said that he had been sold but graciously offered to make another one for me. I was so excited!!! To have a Santa figure of Jenny's AND a bluebird in one piece...WOW! I told her there was no rush for Christmas but she made him and he arrived several days before the 25th. I opened the box and just melted! Cuter in person than in a picture for sure! Now this is the interesting part....When David came home, I happily showed him the new addition to my collection and he commented, "He looks like your Dad." Now, my Father died in 2000 so this is one of the last pictures I have of him...taken on his 80th Birthday (he didn't always wear a crown) with our son, Michael.
OK-that's it for my first REDnesday. Hope you enjoyed meeting George. I'll be back again because I have lots of cute red things to share with you!
Have a great REDnesday...whatever you're up to!
I love Jenny's sculptures and that is a cute one. He does have a resemblance to your dad too! I think I'd keep him out all year to talk to him. LOL
What a great post Joyce! George Claus sure does look like your Dad!! No wonder it was love at first sight!
I'm going to visit Jenny's blog right away - thank you for sharing her link.
Another (blog) friend of mine has been participating in Rednesday for about a year. Many times, including just this morning, I've thought about joining in. I have tons of red stuff in my house. Maybe next week!
Cute creation---so cheerful! Especially wonderful in that it sure DOES resemble your father! How fun and what a sweet reminder of him. Hugs, Heidi
Oh I do love your George Claus!! and I love the picture of Michael and your Dad. I don't think I have ever seen a picture of him. He looks like such a kind man. How perfect that George Clause found a home with you :)
PS did I ever tell you that my Grandpaps name was George :)
Can't wait until Saturday

What a precious story! We have another Santa Claus!
Papa Claus! I love him! What a talented artist...I'm going to lose a little time immersed in her blog, for sure.
(Thank you for all the Charlie and Miles photos. They are so very dear.)
I love the Polka Dot Pixie!! And the Santa is ADORABLE!!!
George is adorable. And just right for your collection. Your Dad was a very handsome guy too. Mimi
YES I see the resemblance! He's just perfect and a bluebird, too. I have seen her bluebirds before and they are fabulous. My Joyce bluebird sat under a pink tree with a tiny pink tree in it for Christmas. I'm still astounded about it! I'm so glad to see you blogging again and am anxious to see your tags. I hope all is well with you and you're feeling better. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for your sweet message on my blog. xoxo Nancy
You're so lucky as I have been waiting to buy one of Jenny's cute creations but get sold right away. How cool that your Santa reminds you of your Dad! Sandy xox

What a wonderful adorable piece of art you have added to your collection. How fun his a namesake for your dad, very special.
There is a striking resemblance between your late father and your son! Aren't genetics crazy?
Red is my mostest favoritest, bestest color....so you have to know I love your Santa.
Oh Joyce! What to say about Mr. Georges Claus! He is Gorgeous and the resemblance is incredible with your father! A precious find!
Joyce, What a beautiful post! I see that you and your son both look like your father! What a wonderful artist you have introduced us to. Could a Santa possibly be any cuter! Thank you for sharing with us on Rednesday! Elizabeth
Oh my goodness...you lucky girl!!! Jenny is one of my heroes. She and Lori Mitchell were my inspiration when trying my hand at paper mache. I only tried it once because it was SO tedious! This figurine is adorable. And it just melts my heart that he looks like your sweet daddy. : )
