Just a quick post.....really?

I have been absent from this blog for several weeks and I'm trying to figure out how
 it is suddenly November 15th???????
First there were the craft shows.....
This year I added cake pedestals...large and small...vintage and new...

...and glass bowls and vases...

and my journals (this is a sampling)...

there were some altered canvases made with vintage sheet music and images...

and of course banners and garlands...

Here's me with my Prednisone cheeks...oh my.

I did say a quick post, right? LOL!
I will be back with another post soon....I have some exciting news and more photos!!
I will be trying to catch up with all of you this week. We are expecting
nine (9!!) house guests over the next 2 weeks....so much to do to get ready!
for now...

I've gotten lots done....but there's lots more to do.....

I did something this week I haven't done in a very long time. I worked 3 days instead of my usual 1 day. Doing this reminded me about why I don't still work 3 days on a regular basis....I am tired! Now I know many of you work full-time jobs and I admire you for that. I did it for years too...many as a single Mom. That being said, it did get me moving and out the door and I was more productive at home and in my craft room, too.
I finished making and mailing the invitations to our cookout for the Book Group next week (they always have ants on them somewhere. I have a collection of "ant" stamps. Is that strange? :D).....
Delivered a travel journal to my friend Pam to take to the Sr. Olympics in California where her Mom competed and won the gold medal in shuffleboard at 80+. Way to go Ruth! Almost all of the siblings, from around the country, went to cheer on their Mom. Pam wanted a journal to record the details about the events.... places they visited.... and their thoughts about the trip....with pockets for maps and brochures....
I also had time to alter a small journal to take to a friend's home as a hostess gift.......

Busy, busy, busy.....but loving every minute! I still have a few more projects to complete and then I have to get busy for 2 Craft Fairs in November! (And my swap....don't forget about that! More about that at the beginning of September!)

In my next visit, I'll post some pictures of several new art pieces I've acquired in the past few weeks. I love Etsy and eBay!

Just a little bump in the road of life....

I really have too much to do to have ended up in the hospital but that's where I spent most of last Thursday and Friday. Chest pains and shortness of breath-not a very good combo. The good news is-it's not my heart. They put me through all of the tests and the results were good. Checking some other things this week but I do feel a lot better. Don't ignore chest pains of any kind! Heart disease is the #1 killer of women! My Cardiologist said that taking one baby aspirin (82mg) a day is the cheapest and easiest protection against a heart attack. (Of course, you can't forget diet and exercise either) Start today!

On a brighter, and I do mean brighter note, this is a little journal I altered for my dear friend Jeanne for her birthday. She has a jewelry business called "just a little something...". I thought she could keep track of her orders in this. She's thinking about an Etsy shoppe..I will keep you posted. The necklace is one she made for me so you can see she does beautiful work! Jeanne is a very colorful woman with a great sense of style. I thought the papers I used on this journal were fun...just like she is! Here she is (on the far left) with her beautiful daughter, Anna, when our book group was having lunch last month at the Hoffbrau Haus, a new restaurant on the Southside of Pittsburgh. Great food!

I'm on a Roll

I'm going to try to do 2 posts in one day...pretty amazing, huh?

I thought I would show you what I made at the most recent class I attended at Stamp Fanci. All of Margie's instructors are great and we always have a lot of fun in the classes. Carolyn (I wish she had a blog) Dewey taught this little Journal Book class. I am always drawn to Carolyn's classes...I'll be taking an acrylic card class of hers in October. This journal is amazing and I am planning on making more of these in different sizes. This one is 4X6-inches; perfect for jotting favorite quotes or putting in cute grandchild pictures or pics of your friends or pets....or your pets who are friends. I haven't decided how I'm going to use mine, for now, I'm just content to flip through the pages. Now if Carolyn had a blog she could do a tutorial, cause they're not too hard to make and we had so much fun making them. I've just shown several of the pages...
Thanks to all of you who commented on my last post. I enjoy getting to know you and visit your blogs. I think we all inspire each other and encourage one another. That's what makes this so much fun! Till next time........I really am thinking of some blog candy to give away.

Thanks to Bev, I have fixed this image....now you can download it if you'd like.
