I have sung the praises of Say It With Letters for years....I love their shapes and letters because they are so well made and easy to work with. I am thrilled to be included in the current Design Team. I am in with a great bunch of uber talented women and I hope you'll take some time to visit their blogs and see what they've done with their assignments, and visit the SIWL Etsy store for your own shapes and letters.
How lucky and excited I was to see my first assignment....leaves!!
I always say that the hardest part is choosing the papers to use in any project. I wanted a fall look but also wanted it to coordinate with my spiffy new dining room. We R Memory Keepers had the perfect line with Autumn Splendor which I ordered from this on-line retailer, Scrapbook Steals. I loved the fall colors of these papers because in addition to the golds, oranges browns, etc., there was my beautiful blue, too.Trace and cut the papers
The leaf and acorn embellishments were made using the Cricut (Storybook cartridge to those of you who are interested in such things) Twine was tied on to the middle leaf and some berries added as well.
More views showing how I'm using them on my table...
Do you use flamless candles? I bought some to use at the Craft Show last year (didn't want to burn the place down) and I really like the look of them.
Here is the rest of the design team:
Joyce Gleason (that's me :D )
I don't know what you have on the docket for next time Deb, but I just want to say Thank You for sending me wonderful shapes to play/work with. I had a lot of fun
working on them while humming..... The Falling Leaves!
XOXO

Hi Joyce,
What a swell job you did on this. Love the choice of paper pattern, and it all came together wonderfully. That squirrel even looks real! :)

Ohhhh LOve Love Love the way they turned out :) the acorns and paper leaves were just the perfect addition---see you didn't need my help after all. Hope you are having a Blast
xoxoxo
So cute and creative. They look great on your table.
Joyce,
These are SOOO you! I just love them, and the "belt" embellishment is so wonderful! I use the flameless candles, I think the "flicker" is prettier, and you don't get that black smoke......I am on my way over to the other ladies blogs! Still working....one day at a time, I can't seem to go much further out than that.....Got my grandpuppy back....she was so skinny and dirty, I was so mad!!!!!! But she will look good soon....I am told they all come back from hunting campe a bit on the "skinny" side as they work and run a lot......it was a good thing the trainer wasn't there when I picked her up! :) I think this project is the start of a wonderful partnership for you! :):) Love, Sandy
joyce,
What a great honor. I really look forward to seeing the creations you make. The paper is just right fr the design....but I am not surprised.
Hugs,
Suz
Oh Joyce, What a surprise to see how you have used these shapes flat on your table top. Absolutely brilliant! Speaking of brilliant, what a laugh I had from the card you sent me. It's perfect, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for thinking of me!

Beautiful first project Joyce! I love the papers you chose. The middle leaf is my favorite and I think the little squirrel must be right at home in that grouping!
I really like the flameless candles to - both for their looks and the safety factor. Too many little fingers touching things at my house! Sure wouldn't want any to get burned!!
Your project look lovely. I really like the papers you chose and how you decorated them. I also like that it has a practical use. Yay for completing your first assignment, can't wait to see what is coming next.
this is just the cutest centerpiece! I love the colors you used to create it. I barely use my Cricut...will have to get it out and play sometime. thanks so much for sharing!
