We had the perfect vacation....

Hi friends~
We are just back from a week at the beach in Delaware. It was a perfect week. The weather was wonderful....we ate lots of good food and we stayed at our favorite place...the Bellmoor Inn, in Rehoboth Beach...

where they spoil you with lovely surroundings,
start the day with a full breakfast here...

have cozy places to sit and chat or read...

and every afternoon...tea and sweets....

fresh flowers everywhere...

gardens in which to sit and relax and have a glass of wine...

fountains and fish...

the most beautiful hydrangeas...

We really, truly relaxed and had a wonderful time.
We walked everywhere from the Inn. The restaurants are interesting and the shops have everything from antiques to t-shirts or salt water taffy...

This is a happy face!
David loves the beach and can sit for hours and hours....
me, not so much

I can do about 2 hours and then I'm out of there...
On our way home we drove up to Leesburg, Virginia so that I could visit my favorite store
The Cottage.
(Visit their blog for additional pictures of wonderful goodies!)
It's a good thing I don't live anywhere close to this place. I would be penniless... but happy!
I always find a few things that I must bring home...but it's also fun just to look at all of the beautifully decorated rooms. Lots of inspiration here..if I had the room and the money, all of the children's chairs would have come home with me!

(Mimi-are you loving these picnic baskets?)

I haven't photographed the things I purchased...I'll share that with you next time along with some neat things that have come in the mail...
until then...
xoxo
Joyce

Hi Joyce!
Wow, it sounds like a perfectly perfect time was had by all! How I would have LOVED to have been at the beach with you...AND wandered through the Cottage! I went to their website and their place looks every bit as wonderful as you described! Glad to have you home...and glad you had such a wonderful time!

I love that cottage store it looks so much FUN. I'm not a sitter on a beach myself as my skin is so light I don't tan it. That's why I'm up here in Alaska anyway it's cooler and not as much sun. But I love to walk on beaches with a big hat lol...I bet you had so much fun on this trip it sure looks like it in the photos. Nan

WELCOME HOME MY FRIEND!!! I missed you. I am so glad that you had a wonderful and relaxing time. You guys sure deserved it!! The place you stayed looks wonderful and the beach--what can I say but I am so jealous. I must get to the cottage some day. It looks amazing. I LOVE all of those picnic baskets. I think I could do a lot of damage at that store. Maybe we need to do a Themla and Loise trip in that sweet blue car of yours :) Can't wait to see pictures of the treasures that you brought home. Better yet, maybe I will see them in person.

oh my! Joyce, it looks like you had a great time overthere! And "The Cottage" looks like a oh là là place! A funny thing is that I have the exact same picnic basket as on your photo, the one in the middle!
So happy to read you!

Hi Joyce,
What a relaxing vacation that must have been. Beautiful photos to remember your journey.
Your David is very much like my hubby. He adores the beach and fishing in the ocean. The sun and the sand could be his best friend...but not mine. Glad you are back safe and sound. Have a wonderful week.

Hi Joyce,
We're hemming dresses 6 and 7 tonight, but I thought I would take a minute to run over and say HI! Man, this is the sort of vacation I could use about now. I've loved every minute of planning this wedding, however, I'm going to need a vacation when it's all over. : )
It looks like you're doing much better these days. I sure hope so. So glad you could get away on this wonderful trip.
Take care,
Mary Lou
