Welcome to the Vintage Easter Blog Hop

Pull up a chair and spend a little time if you can and visit the blogs participating in the Vintage Easter Blog Hop, hosted by Joan at Anything Goes Here. There are many bloggers participating and some beautiful things displayed. When you go to Joan's blog, you will see all of the links to make it an easy hop.

I have a combination of Vintage and Vintage style items for you to see...

First is something very, very vintage. It is an Easter picture of my older (sorry Barb) sister and me in 1953...
Easter was not in June in 1953. Apparently it took a long time for my parents to finally develop the camera film from Easter. Back in those times, you always got a new dress, hat and white cotton gloves for Easter. Our Mother made many of our dresses but I'm not sure about this one. I was 4 in this picture and my sister was 12. I'm sure I was looking so stern becasue she was probably bossing me around.
Some other vintage or nearly vintage items...

Will you think it "odd" if I tell you that I kinda collect carrots? I didn't mean to start this collection ...it just sort of happened when I kept seeing more and more cute handmade ones. I think the bunnies are happy about it.

My prize handmade velveteen rabbit, complete with Easter bonnet. She is signed and dated (1986, which is when I adopted her)) by the New Jersey folk artist Lou Souders. I have several of Lou's pieces but she is my favorite.

Ooops, how did that sneak in there? He's not vintage but he sure is cute!
Enjoy hopping everyone and thanks for stopping by...I love to have visitors!
XOXO

New dress, hat & gloves! That's the way it was at our house too! But I was the "bossy" older sister in my family.

Love all your bunnies. That "chocolate" bunny is cute....but the cutest one of all is "batman bunny" for sure!!

What would Easter be without a Batman bunny!!! He sure is a cute one!!! I am afraid to say that I was the bossy older sister until my sister went away to college and didn't listen to me anymore :) I love all of your Easter decorations---especially those wonderful carrots. Have a happy Sunday :)

I completely identify with the new dress (made by mom, new hat, gloves and spring coat for Easter. My sister and I were always dressed alike for holidays....

One thing I can count on is that, when a holiday approaches, Joyce will have all her wonderful decorations AND vintage ephemera to share!

Carrots? Now you know I'm going to remember that one!!

Hi Joy,
I love the photo of you and your sister... I thought about posting one of myself, but never dug it out. I loved dressing for Easter the sweet dresses the little lady gloves & a PURSE (so the obsession started!)

Yes, Easter morning was the same at our house....my three sisters and I, dressed to the nines, lined up on the front lawn for the annual Easter photo shoot. I remember the sun was alway in our eyes, so we were squinting in most of the photos.

You have a wonderful bunny collection and your carrots are great too....but the blue ribbon goes to the cute little guy in the batman tee, he's ADORABLE !

Best Wishes,
Kay

It's not weird at all to have a carrot collection, especially when they're so cute! Love your Easter family picture, and after seeing so many of them today, I'm inspired to try digging up some of mine too! But my favorite of all is that last little bunny at the very end. He is adorable!
Happy Easter!

Love your Easter photo. I was a 50's baby too!
the best thing was the new dresses and the smell of new patent leather shoes, and the candy of course.

My mom also made some of my dresses. One year I had a new one for Palm Sunday AND Easter! I told my mom I remembered how scratchy that fabric was, and she said I never complained when I wore the dresses! I also like your little 'batman' in bunny ears--he's very cute. Thanks for sharing. ♥♫

Yes, like you, my sister and I got new hats, gloves, dresses and purses for Easter, and someone told me today that every one in church liked to see us make our entrance. Mom gets the credit, not us.
Cute bunny collection, and you are the only one I've heard of to collect carrots!

Joyce, What a cute Batman bunny! What cute carrots! Easter was in June that year! 12 to 4, no wonder your sister was bossy. You probably were a pest! Such a fun post today. I love all of your rabbits. You just have to make a blog ribbon Joyce. I think we need to see them spread all over our community. What fun! Have a great day! E
