The Ides of March....

We all learned about the Ides of March when we were in school....it is the day Julius Caesar was stabbed to death by Marcus Brutus in 44 B.C. (I was just a small child then and  had nothing to do with it!) On a lighter note, it is also our Daughter-In-Law Jane's birthday! Happy Birthday Jane!

We had a great time when Eric, Jane and Charlie came for a visit last week. We mostly just hung out together and had fun at home but we also took a trip to the Children's Museum here in Pittsburgh.

(Charlie checking out his shadow)

Charlie had a lot of fun with all of the interactive displays. One of the highlights, especially for the adults, was Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. They had some of the props used in the television show on display and I think Eric really had more fun than Charlie did.

As usual, my intentions to take lots of pictures got lost somewhere in the enjoyment of the happenings of the moment! I did get this photo of David and Eric on their way to the Penguins game on Saturday...

On Sunday, Charlie got a chance to say Hi to Papa before church started...

On Monday morning, I came downstairs to find that Papa had turned Charlie's chair around to face the window and they were watching the birds at the feeder while Charlie ate his breakfast.

We read many books, played with puzzles and cars and watched a movie or two. My photos are sparse but I had a great time. It went by too quickly and on Tuesday they left to go home.
We missed you as soon as you were gone from our sight Charlie...
don't grow too fast before we see you again!
xoxo

What a beautiful family you have! Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all! Gosh, I miss Mr. Rogers. That train on the blue wall looked exactly like the one on the show! Was that THE train? I would have loved to see that! Have a great day, Sweetie! xo Paulette ;)

He's quite a handsome little man, that Charlie of yours! Aren't little ones so funny when they start to notice their shadows ~ Charlotte was waving at hers the other day.
That museum looks awesome. Onto my every growing list of places to take the grandbabies to someday.
I love the photo of Papa and Charlie watching the birds ~ what a sweet time for the two of them.
I hope your guys had a good time at the hockey game. Katie, Mark, Mandy and friends drove to Detroit for a game this past weekend. They left Friday night at 7pm and arrived back home Sunday night at almost midnight. Ten hours each way...all for the love of the game! : )

Have a great week.
Hugs!!

What a little heart breaker!!! Not being able to take scads of photos means you were actively participating in the merriment! Yay! And you have a handful to mark some highlights for memories in the years to come.

You have a beautiful family, Joyce! Happy Birthday, Jane!

Ohhhh, I've been waiting for this post. How do you stand it? Charlie is SO precious!!!
How wonderful about the Mr. Rogers exhibit. I truly loved that gentle giant. He was one of my heroes when my kiddos were little. I even took my oldest, Scott, to see him in person when he toured the country with a little show one Summer.
I got a great laugh out of, "I was just a small child then and had nothing to do with it!". You're a funny one, Joyce. :-D

Joyce, you captured some amazing shots here. The one of Charlie looking at his shadow is precious. The photo of Charlie and his Grandfather glancing out at the snow is so sweet. Beautiful photos to become cherished memories in years to come. I'm glad you all had a wonderful visit together.
