Finished Banner for Hannah and a card for a favorite pilot I know :D

I have finished the banner for baby Hannah
I wish I could figure out a way to photograph these banners hanging up without my deck furniture showing in the background...do I need to hang a sheet over the door?

A closer look

I added a tiny button on the front. I really love the pink and brown color scheme.
Now the birthday card...

I'm really enjoying working in all digital.
The picture of the little boy (I found it on line but I don't remember where)

The alphabet block

The banner with the phrase

and even the background printed paper is digital!
I love layering and arranging the items...art without being able to draw or paint.
Anyway,  my pilot friend seemed to like it and since
he saved the card I made him last year, that qualified him for being "handmade card worthy".
You card makers know what I'm talking about *wink wink*.

This card was made using a very, very old publishing program from Microsoft
which isn't even around anymore. I have Photoshop Elements, I just need to download it. silly me!

I'm still working on some dining room decorating so I'll hold off showing any more pictures until there is more to show. We had a cook-out with my Book Group friends and the husbands on Saturday...had a fun time.
Tomorrow we (the Book Group girls) will be going to see The Help.

We read the book last fall and are anxious to see the movie adaptation. I just might wear a shirtwaist dress...and pearls!

  1. Joyce,
Both projects turned out do darn cute! I just love them! I am just finishing "The Help" now....it is so good, but I wonder if I want to relive that horrible time in our history....hopefully the movie is more "lighthearted" than the book. But I don't know how you do that with this subject...let us know, OK? Also, did you check your email lately? LOL Sandy

  3. OH I Love the Hannah banner. It turned out just adorable. I love your attention to detail--the sweet little button and pink bow on the letters. What a lucky little girl baby Hannah is :) Have fun at the movies tomorrow--I heard it is wonderful.

  4. What a darling banner. That is perfect in pink and brown. I always have trouble figuring out where to take the photos. Digital is so much fun because if you mess up you can just delete it and start over...enjoy your movie...Renee

  6. I love the pink and brown color scheme too, Joyce! It's your layering that adds your special touch to what you do. There is always something subtly vintage about your art, with baby boomer appeal. Me like-y very much!!

  9. great banner and great card! and im not a card maker, but I know what you mean by someone being created card worthy. Its the same with hamdmade gifts! one time my sister was complaining about affording christmas for everyone and she said to me.. "well your just going to make something like you always do..." and I instantly thought.. "oh no I'm not.. not now!"
    anyways.. have a great week...

  10. I had to swing back buy to say, "brilliant idea", about adding a little cone-hat to your script bird. I just might try one for my Shop. :-D
